Pediatric Orthopedic Project’s Impact on Women

  • Across the globe, the vast majority of patients with scoliosis that go on to require surgery, are female.

In the Dominican Republic, any child with a physical deformity is often ostracized and at times, not allotted an opportunity for education.

  • Females who are afflicted are not considered marriage-worthy.

Every year we have a reunion of all previous patients operated on by POP.

That is where we bear the fruits of our labor.

  • Children who once came to us feeling dejected and a shadow of themselves are now active members of society.

They are happy, vibrant, and pursuing an education.

Your donations allow us to do this transformative work.

Help us support the women of the Dominican Republic.
