14 Trips & Counting!

To date, a total of 780 children have received treatment due to our efforts; 124 through our 14 mission trips, and more importantly, 656 by the hands of the Dominican surgeons and staff that we have trained. That is the true testament of our success! From the onset, our main goal has been to educate our local colleagues or what we like to call the “teach them to fish mentality.” We started our efforts in the Arturo Grullón Children’s Hospital in Santiago, Dominican Republic in 2012. However, due to a renovation process that resulted in essentially no operating rooms for over 4 years, we have been holding our mission trips at Hospital Metropolitano de Santiago (HOMS), a private, state-of-the-art facility in Santiago. Despite our accomplishments, there is still much more work to do as there are many more children waiting in line for these surgeries; children who have no hope for surgical correction otherwise.
